Curing glass - tests

Procedure of samples takeoff to test impact resistance, resistance to thermal shock and tension measurements.

From the molding line after quality receiver we take away every hour 2 pieces glasses. The both pieces go for test impact resistance. Increased impact resistance we create by warming of the oral edge and its subsequent rapid cooled on the line Biebuyck.

Process I.

fig. no. 2

The process of measure glasses impact resistance.

Tools for testing:

  • pendulum hammer, see fig. no.1
  • thickness, see fig. no. 2

  1. We take into adjustable clips of the stand pendulum hammer 2 cm below the oral edge – we fix against unwanted resonance. The head of weight touches in the vertical position the oral edge of one of four marked points on the circumference of the glass.
  2. Gradually, we hit by hammer in the angle of 50° for marked four points and unless go to the breaking, we increase progressively the stress by 10°°. The angle is increased until breaking.

Process II.

The process of measure tension cured glasses.

Tools for testing:

  • polariscop

Tension at the interface maximum of 100nm/cm

and the edge about 500 nm/cm

Composition of Banquet glass

We certify that our Banquet Crystal branded items ( stemware, bowls etc.) are first choice and are suitable for use in contact with beverages and foodstuffs in conformity with the
regulations in force.

It is formulated and produced with raw materials chemically and physically checked before
production.

Main components are siliceous sand, soda and lime stone.

The chemical comsposition of oxides in percentage is as follows:

Lead free crystal:
SIO2 % 70
Al2O3 % 0,5
CaO+MgO % 5 - 7
Na2O % 9 - 11
K2O+BaO % 10 – 12
